Wang Yi Talks about Four-point Consensus of China and Tajikistan

2021-07-14 14:28

On July 13, 2021 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with the press in Dushanbe with Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin.

Wang Yi expressed, I just held productive talks with Foreign Minister Muhriddin. We had in-depth exchanges of views and reached a broad consensus on promoting cooperation in various fields under the new circumstances.

First, comprehensively build a community of development. Taking the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road as the mainline, we should accelerate the implementation of major cooperation projects, and have the first Luban Workshop in Central Asia set up in Tajikistan to help Tajikistan train high-caliber professionals and improve its capacity for sustainable development.

Second, work together to build a security community. The pressing task is to coordinate and address the evolution of the Afghan situation, stabilize the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border, combat terrorism, and prevent non-regional forces from stirring up troubles.

Third, jointly build a community of health for all. The key is to fight COVID-19 with solidarity. China will continue to provide vaccine support for Tajikistan, and help it build centers for traditional medicine and improve its public health system. We jointly oppose politicizing the pandemic and the origin-tracing, and reject "vaccine nationalism" and "vaccine divide".

Fourth, promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. We need to strengthen coordination on international and regional affairs, steadfastly uphold the international order with the UN at the core, defend multilateralism, oppose interference in other countries' internal affairs, and oppose unilateralism and bullying practices.
