On April 4, 2023, Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng met at request with Associate Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia Tim Yeend. The two sides exchanged views on China-Australia relations and issues of mutual interest and concern.
Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng expounded on China's principled position on developing China-Australia relations, and expressed his hope that Australia will work with China in the same direction to well implement common understandings reached between leaders of the two countries at the Bali summit and outcomes of China-Australia Foreign and Strategic Dialogue, and, following the principle of mutual respect, seeking common ground while shelving differences, mutual benefit and win-win results, maintain high-level exchanges, expand practical cooperation and properly manage differences, so as to push forward further improvement and constant development of China-Australia relations.
