On April 27, 2019, Vice Foreign Minister Zheng Zeguang held a group meeting in Beijing with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance and Economic Management Mark Brown of the Cook Islands, Minister for Fisheries Semi Koroilavesau and Minister for Agriculture Mahendra Reddy of Fiji, Secretary General of Pacific Islands Development Forum François Martel and envoys of some Pacific Island countries in China, who were here for the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing.

Vice Foreign Minister Zheng Zeguang and the distinguished guests exchanged views on deepening practical cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and promoting further development of bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the Pacific Island countries.
