Head of the China National Tourism Administration Li Jinzao Attends Coronation Ceremony of the King of Tonga as Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping

On July 3 and 4 local time, Head of the China National Tourism Administration Li Jinzao attended the coronation ceremony of King Tupou VI of Tonga as the Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping in Nuku'alofa, and met with King Tupou VI and the Queen.

Li Jinzao conveyed sincere congratulations from President Xi Jinping to King Tupou VI and the Queen, and expressed that China attaches great importance to developing bilateral relations with Tonga, and is willing to make concerted efforts with Tonga in strengthening exchanges and cooperation in all sectors so as to promote China-Tonga relations for continuous development.

King Tupou VI extended his heartfelt gratitude to President Xi Jinping for sending a special envoy to attend his coronation ceremony, and asked Li Jinzao to convey his best wishes to President Xi Jinping. King Tupou VI noted that Tonga values Tonga-China friendship, steadfastly adheres to the One China policy, and is sincerely thankful to China for its long-term and valuable assistance to Tonga's economic and social development. Tonga is ready to further deepen cooperation with China in economy and trade, culture, tourism and other fields so that the bilateral relations can scale to a new high.

During his attendance of the coronation ceremony, Li Jinzao also met respectively with Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Samiuela Pohiva and Minister of Tourism Etuate Lavulavu. Both sides agreed to further intensify China-Tonga cooperation in tourism. China announced to organize 1,000 tourists in batches to tour around Tonga within this year, and organize 100 traveling salesmen to have a study tour in Tonga, for which Tonga is grateful.
