From February 23 to 26, 2016, Vice Foreign Minister Zheng Zeguang paid working visits to the Kingdom of Tonga and the Independent State of Papua New Guinea. Zheng Zeguang held talks respectively with leading officials of the two Foreign Ministries and paid visits to King Tupou VI of Tonga, Prime Minister Samiuela 'Akilisi Pōhiva of Tonga, Prime Minister Peter O'Neill of Papua New Guinea and other leaders. They had an in-depth exchange of views on topics such as the further development of strategic partnership between China and the two states, and enhancement of exchanges and cooperation in various fields.

Zheng Zeguang attends handover ceremony of China-aided water supply project for Waini Community on Tongatapu Island. 

During the visits, Zheng Zeguang also attended the handover ceremony of the China-aided water supply project for Waini Community on Tongatapu Island, and inspected China-financed projects, including the Tonga Government Office Building complex , the International Conference Center of Papua New Guinea and the National Data Center of Papua New Guinea.
