China and Nauru

On January 24, 2024,China and Nauru signed a Joint Communiqué on the Resumption of Diplomatic Relations between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Nauru.

On March, 2024,President of Nauru David Adeang paid a state visit to China. President Xi Jinping held talks with him, and the two sides issued a Joint Statement between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Nauru.In December 2024, Speaker of the Nauru Parliament Marcus Stephen visited China. Chairman Zhao Leji of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress held talks with Speaker Stephen, and Chairman Wang Huning of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference met with him. In September 2024, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Nauru’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Lionel Rouwen Aingnimea on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
