On November 21, 2019, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Zhai Jun attended upon invitation the national day reception held by the Omani Embassy in China, and addressed the function.

Zhai Jun congratulated Oman on its national day and expressed that China and Oman enjoy a profound traditional friendship. In recent years, bilateral relations have developed rapidly. Last year, in particular, President Xi Jinping and Sultan Qaboos bin Said jointly announced the establishment of the strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries, ushering China-Oman relations into the best period in history. In the next stage, the Chinese side is ready to work with the Omani side to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, advance practical cooperation and friendly exchanges in various fields within the framework of jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative and write new chapters in China-Oman friendship and cooperation.

Zhai Jun also exchanged views with Omani Ambassador to China Abdullah Saleh Al Saadi on such topics as bilateral relations.
