Xi Jinping Accepts Credentials from Ten New Ambassadors to China

On December 14, 2015, President Xi Jinping accepted credentials presented by ten new ambassadors to China at the Great Hall of the People. They were Cape Verdean Ambassador to China Tânia Romualdo, Lithuanian Ambassador to China Ina Marčiulionytė, Slovenian Ambassador to China Janez Premože, Finnish Ambassador to China Marja Rislakki, Viet Nam Ambassador to China Đặng Minh Khôi, Brazilian Ambassador to China Roberto Jaguaribe, Sri Lankan Ambassador to China Karunasena Kodituwakku, Uruguayan Ambassador to China Fernando Lugris, Ambassador of the Federated States of Micronesia to China Carlson Apis and Bolivian Ambassador to China Heriberto Quispe Charca.

Xi Jinping welcomed the foreign ambassadors to their new posts in China, and asked them to convey his sincere greetings and good wishes to their state leaders and peoples. Xi Jinping spoke positively of China’s sound relations with these countries. He pointed out that China attaches great importance to developing relations with these countries and is willing to further consolidate traditional friendship, strengthen political mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges to achieve common prosperity. The Chinese government will provide convenience and support for the work of the ambassadors, and hopes that they make positive contributions to enhancing China’s bilateral relations with countries concerned and friendship between the peoples.

The foreign ambassadors conveyed the warm regards from their state leaders to Xi Jinping and friendly greetings to the Chinese people. The ambassadors said that China has enjoyed fast economic and social development and played a positive role in international affairs this year. These countries attach great importance to developing relations with China, and take their relations with China as a priority in their diplomacy. They feel highly honored to serve as envoys to China, and are willing to exert their utmost to promote their respective countries to enhance friendship and cooperation with China and deepen mutual understanding between their peoples and the Chinese people so as to realize mutual benefits and win-win results.
