Wu Bangguo Meets with Prime Minister of Lesotho Mosisili

On the afternoon of December 2, 2005, Chairman Wu Bangguo of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) met with Prime Minister of Lesotho Pakalitha Mosisili in the Great Hall of the People.

Wu said that currently bilateral mutual political trust has been continuously built up and the cooperation in various areas has been deepened, which conforms to the fundamental interest of both countries and their people. China would like to make joint efforts with Lesotho to hold in-depth discussions on cooperation approaches suitable to national conditions of the two countries and push the existing friendly cooperative relations to a new level.

Wu noted that parliamentary exchanges are an important part of China-Lesotho relations and conducive to all-round development of bilateral ties. Last yearSpeaker of the National Assembly of Lesotho Ntlhoi Motsamai visited China and both sides conducted sound talks, which has strengthened mutual understanding and friendship. The NPC of China would like to further enhance contacts with the National Assembly of Lesotho to exchange experience in governing a state, strengthening democracy and building a legal system in a bid to further push for bilateral friendly cooperation in various areas.

Wu also briefed on China's efforts in strengthening democracy and building a legal system.

Mosisili reviewed the development process of bilateral relations and made highly positive comments on bilateral friendly cooperation in bilateral and multilateral areas. He said that Lesotho attaches great importance to relations with China and would like to comprehensively strengthen friendly exchanges with China in various areas.
