On July 8, 2013, Vice President Li Yuanchao met with a delegation of the Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD) led by Deputy Prime Minister Mothetjoa Metsing in Beijing.

Li Yuanchao said that China-Lesotho relationship has made substantial progress in recent years, with continuously deepened political mutual trust and fruitful cooperation in all fields. For the 11 years since the Communist Party of China and LCD started the exchanges, the two parties always respect and understand each other. Hope the two parties will share more experience on governance and party construction to promote mutually beneficial cooperation and friendly exchanges between the two countries and the healthy, sustained and stable development of China-Lesotho relations.

Metsing said that Lesotho will as always firmly adhere to the One-China policy and hopes to strengthen inter-party exchanges and friendly cooperation between the two countries.
