On September 27, 2010, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met with Seif al-Islam Gaddafi, Chairman of the Gaddafi International Charity and Development Foundation (GICDF), who came to China to attend the Libyan National Pavilion Day and China National Pavilion Day activities held in the Shanghai World Expo.

Yang welcomed Seif to attend the Shanghai World Expo activities. He spoke highly of the development of bilateral relations and said that China attaches great importance to friendly relations with Libya and is willing to further promote bilateral cooperation with Libya in various fields.

Seif said that he was delighted to pay a visit to China just before the 61st anniversary of China's National Day. Libya is willing to further strengthen bilateral economic and trade cooperation with China and welcomes more Chinese companies to invest in Libya. He extended his best wishes for a complete success of the Shanghai Expo.
