On August 23, 2024, Director-General of the Protocol Department of the Foreign Ministry Hong Lei accepted respectively the copies of credentials presented by newly-appointed Ambassador of Ireland to China Nicholas O' Brien, and newly-appointed Ambassador of Zimbabwe to China Abigail Shoniwa, who arrived in China on August 20.
