Li Keqiang Meets with President Petro Poroshenko of Ukraine

In the afternoon of January 21 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met with President Petro Poroshenko of Ukraine in Davos.

Li Keqiang expressed that since the establishment of the diplomatic relationship, China and Ukraine have always enjoyed mutual respect and equal treatment with fruitful results in cooperation. China has always respected the national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine and supported Ukraine in taking a development path conforming to its national conditions. China is willing to continue practical cooperation with Ukraine in various fields on the principle of mutual benefit and win-win outcome to benefit the two peoples.

Li Keqiang said that currently the international situation is undergoing profound changes and the international system and order are under in-depth adjustment. It is the common aspiration of the people of the whole world to seek peace rather than wars, development rather than poverty, and cooperation rather than conflict. On the issue of Ukrainian crisis, China pursues an objective and just standpoint, maintains the approach of political resolution and will continue to play an active and constructive role for it.

Poroshenko expressed that the Ukrainian government attaches importance to the relations with China and is willing to maintain cooperation with China. Ukraine hopes that China will play a more active role in the political resolution of the Ukrainian issue.
