Foreign Minister Wang Yi Holds Talks with Foreign Minister Kristian Jensen of Denmark

On October 27, 2015, Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks in Beijing with Foreign Minister Kristian Jensen of Denmark.

Wang Yi noted that Denmark was one of the first Western countries that established diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China. In recent years, China-Denmark exchanges and cooperation in various fields have maintained a momentum of rapid development. Both sides should, based on the sound bilateral relations at present, enhance strategic mutual trust, strengthen docking of development, forge closer bonds between people's hearts and constantly enrich the connotation of China-Denmark comprehensive strategic partnership. China appreciates the strategic foresight and determination of Denmark in joining the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and welcomes Denmark to actively participate in the construction of specific projects related to the "Belt and Road" initiative. China is willing to actively develop its relations with the EU and boost exchanges and cooperation with Denmark in regional and international affairs.

Kristian Jensen noted that Denmark attaches great importance to developing the comprehensive strategic partnership with China, sticks to the One-China policy, and stands ready to maintain the momentum of bilateral high-level visits, expand bilateral practical cooperation in all fields including politics, economy, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and participate in the transforming and upgrading process of Chinese economy. Denmark pays respect to the sacrifice made by the Chinese people during World War II, supports the EU-China comprehensive strategic partnership, is willing to take part in the construction of the "Belt and Road", backs the AIIB in carrying out its work, and will cooperate with China in a wide range of international affairs.

After the talks, Wang Yi and Kristian Jensen jointly witnessed the signing ceremony of the Articles of Agreement of the AIIB by the Danish side.
