Queen Margrethe II of Denmark Meets with Yang Jiechi

On April 17, 2016, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark met with State Councilor Yang Jiechi at the Fredensborg Palace in Copenhagen.

Queen Margrethe II asked Yang Jiechi to convey her warm greetings to President Xi Jinping, and said that her visit to China two years ago remained fresh in her memory which gained positive results and further promoted the sound relations between Denmark and China. She is very glad that China's "Happy Spring Festival" activities have been popular in Denmark in recent years. The Royal Danish Ballet will soon visit and perform in China. She hoped that both sides could continue to enhance exchanges and cooperation in culture, arts and local affairs, and make positive efforts for the development of bilateral relations.

Yang Jiechi conveyed President Xi Jinping's warm greetings to Queen Margrethe II. Yang Jiechi said, Her Majesty paid a successful state visit to China in April, 2014 and conducted in-depth and friendly conversations with Chinese leaders, further promoting the comprehensive development of China-Denmark relations. The two countries have maintained high-level exchanges and achieved fruitful results in economic and trade cooperation. People-to-people and cultural exchanges in the areas of education, culture and other sectors are in the ascendant and cooperation at local levels has witnessed vigorous development, injecting new vitality to bilateral relations. China thanks the Danish Royal Family for their concerns and support for the development of China-Denmark relations. China is willing to work together with Denmark to fully implement the important consensus reached by both leaders on developing bilateral relations, deepen cooperation and exchanges in various fields and constantly promote new progress of China-Denmark relations.
