On November 28, 2017, Vice Foreign Minister Zheng Zeguang met with former Prime Minister of Denmark and CEO of Save the Children International Helle Thorning-Schmidt and her delegation. Zheng Zeguang introduced the Chinese government's strategic goals of bringing all impoverished people out of poverty and completing the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects by 2020. He also thanked the contributions that Save the Children International has made to targeted poverty alleviation work of the Chinese Foreign Ministry. Helle Thorning-Schmidt expressed that Save the Children International stands ready to play a positive role in the cause of women and children of countries along the "Belt and Road" which is proposed by China, and is willing to continue carrying out cooperation with the Chinese Foreign Ministry in targeted poverty alleviation.
