On June 21, 2018, Vice Foreign Minister Wang Chao attended the reception marking the 10th anniversary of the establishment of China-Denmark comprehensive strategic partnership held at the Danish Embassy in China. Wang Chao and visiting Minister for Foreign Affairs Anders Samuelsen of Denmark respectively delivered a speech.

Wang Chao expressed that China and Denmark announced to establish comprehensive strategic partnership in October 2008, elevating bilateral relations to a new height. Developing a sound, stable and sustainable China-Denmark comprehensive strategic partnership conforms to respective interests of both countries as well as is conducive to the development of China-Europe relations and accords with the trend of the times. Standing at a new historical starting point and facing new development opportunities, China-Denmark comprehensive strategic partnership will surely embrace a brighter future.

Anders Samuelsen expressed that Denmark was among the first Western countries to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China. Since the establishment of bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership ten years ago, the two countries have enjoyed frequent high-level exchanges and constantly expanded cooperation fields. The Denmark-China Joint Work Program released last year has elevated bilateral cooperation to a new level. The Danish side stands ready to, together with China, strengthen dialogue and cooperation and join hands in building innovative, sound and sustainable Denmark-China relations. Denmark opposes trade war and hopes to solve trade frictions through dialogue and consultation.
