Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Milo Đukanović of Montenegro

On the afternoon of November 26, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Great Hall of the People with Prime Minister Milo Đukanović of Montenegro, who was in China for the attendance of the 4th Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries.

Li Keqiang noted that China enjoys smooth relations with Montenegro, and both sides are important cooperative partners under the framework of the 16+1 cooperation. Both nations will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations together next year. China will work with Montenegro to further push forward bilateral friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China is willing to, together with Montenegro, earnestly implement the key cooperation project of Montenegro's north-south expressway, boost cooperation in railways, thermal power stations and other sectors, and boost bilateral cooperation in such areas as ports, trade, industrial parks, logistics, equipment manufacturing and transport infrastructure based on the important consensus of the cooperation initiative involving the ports of the Adriatic, Baltic and Black seas reached during the 4th Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries in Suzhou. There is a bright future for Chinese medicine in Montenegro, and China supports opening the first traditional Chinese medicine hospital in Montenegro as soon as possible.

Milo Đukanović congratulated on the complete success of the 4th Summit of China and Central and Eastern European Countries, expressing that the 1+6 cooperation framework put forward by Premier Li is very important, charting the course for development of bilateral relations. China is an important economic cooperation partner of Montenegro, and the Montenegro's north-south expressway being built by China is of very good quality and progresses well. Montenegro supports the consensus reached during the summit in Suzhou on boosting cooperation among port areas in the Baltic Sea, the Adriatic Sea and the Black Sea, welcomes China to take an active part in infrastructure construction including Bar harbor and industrial parks, and hopes the Budapest-Belgrade railway link extend to Montenegro. Montenegro is also ready to intensify bilateral cooperation in tourism.
