Leaders of Foreign Countries Congratulate Xi Jinping on His Election as President of China

On March 22, 2018, some state leaders and political party leaders sent telegrams and messages to Xi Jinping in succession, warmly congratulating him on his election as President of the People's Republic of China.

President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of Germany expressed that he would like to extend warm congratulations to Xi Jinping on his election as President of China on the First Session of the Thirteenth National People's Congress of China and send best wishes to Xi Jinping. He stands ready to work with Xi Jinping to jointly advance the close and friendly relations between Germany and China.

Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany expressed that in the past few years, the all-round strategic partnership between Germany and China has provided a stable framework for cooperation between the two countries in various fields. She stands ready to work with Xi Jinping to continue deepening cooperation and promoting greater development of Germany-China all-round strategic partnership. She wishes Xi Jinping continuous success in the post of President of China.

President Sauli Niinisto of Finland expressed that during Xi Jinping's state visit to Finland in April 2017, they had comprehensively planned bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas. At present, the two sides have been negotiating a work plan for advancing the future-oriented new-type cooperative partnership between Finland and China. It is believed that this plan will guide Finland-China practical cooperation and promote bilateral cooperation for more fruitful outcomes.

Queen Margrethe II of Denmark congratulated Xi Jinping on his election as President of China and she would like to extend her sincere congratulations and best wishes to Xi Jinping and the Chinese people.

President Enrique Peña Nieto of Mexico expressed that he firmly believed that in the new era, Xi Jinping will continue making unremitting efforts for the benefits of China. He stands ready to work with Xi Jinping to continue deepening Mexico-China comprehensive strategic partnership. He also wishes the great Chinese people happiness, peace and health.

President Sebastian Pinera of Chile expressed that Xi Jinping's election demonstrates his outstanding leadership in leading China to achieve grand development goals and the Chinese people's trust in him. He believes that the comprehensive strategic partnership and friendly cooperation between Chile and China will be further expanded to bring more benefits to the people of both countries.

Prime Minister Keith Rowley of Trinidad and Tobago expressed that he believed that under Xi Jinping's leadership, China will surely be more prosperous and stronger, and make extraordinary development achievements.
