On August 1, the Foreign Ministry held a forum celebrating the 10th anniversary of the establishment of political dialogue relations between China and the Rio Group. Foreign Minister Guillermo Fernandez de Soto of Columbia, which is the current rotating coordinator country of the Rio Group, made a speech called "Prospects of Integration and Cooperation-Relations between Latin America and the Caribbean". He, together with foreign ministers of Mexico and Chile, took questions from the 200-plus audience. Officials from the Foreign Ministry, scholars from relevant organizations, business people and diplomats from Latin American embassies in China were present at the forum.
