On August 25, 2016, when jointly meeting the press in Beijing with visiting Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati of Albania, Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that from the next month, China will enter a busy "season of multilateral diplomacy". China will host the G20 Summit and participate in several important regional and global multilateral events. In these cooperation mechanisms, China will further play a positive and constructive role and make its contributions to further deepening regional cooperation and improving the global governance process.

Wang Yi expressed that the G20 Hangzhou Summit is the most important home-field diplomacy of China this year and also the most important and high-profile global governance platform. With strong support of all parties, the preparation of the G20 Summit is making smooth progress. Hangzhou is ready, and so is China. We believe the summit in China this time will certainly live up to expectations, highlight features, magnificence and substantial results, and make new important contributions to boosting world economic growth as well as improving global economic governance.
