On Sep. 7, 2013, President Xi Jinping met in Astana with Speaker of Kazakh Parliament's Lower House Nurlan Nigmatulin.

Xi Jinping expressed that this is my first visit to Kazakhstan. During the visit, I have always been immersed in a warm and friendly atmosphere and personally felt the strong driving force for China-Kazakhstan cooperation. I held fruitful talks with President Nursultan Nazarbayev and we jointly planned for the future cooperation between the two countries. We both agreed that bilateral cooperation enjoys huge potential and bright prospects. Both sides reached a series of new important cooperation documents. I believe, in the near future, these projects will surely yield fruitful results.

Xi Jinping stressed that the cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries is important part of China-Kazakhstan comprehensive strategic partnership. Hope both sides will expand friendly exchanges, share experience and learn from each other on state governance, democracy and legal system building-up to support and promote bilateral cooperation. Both sides should as well strengthen cooperation on the international arena. Both sides should work with other emerging market countries and developing nations to introduce the development paths we choose in accordance with our own national conditions, to publicize the bright prospects of our development, to enhance our say on the international arena so as to push forward democracy of international relations.

Nigmatulin expressed that President Xi Jinping's current visit has strongly boosted the good-neighbourly friendship and strategic cooperation between the two countries. Especially the China-Kazakhstan Joint Declaration on Further Deepening Comprehensive Strategic Partnership signed by the two heads of state is another impotent historic document for bilateral relations and has opened up a new chapter in bilateral cooperation. The Kazakh side believes that China's economy will continue to maintain a sound growth momentum. Kazakhstan hopes to learn from China for the successful experience to deepen bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation. Kazakhstan and China share the same views on quite a number of major international issues. We both advocate that all countries should choose their own systems and paths in accordance with their own historical and cultural traditions and should have their own say on the world stage. Kazakhstan is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in international affairs. The Kazakh Parliament will surely contribute more to promoting the development of the relations between the two countries.
