On Sept. 10, 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Bishkek to start a state visit to Kyrgyzstan and to attend the thirteenth Meeting of the Council of Heads of the Member States of the SCO.

Around 18:30 local time, Xi Jinping’s special plane arrived at Bishkek Manas International Airport. Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambaev, Prime Minister Zhantoro Satybaldiyev and others warmly greeted at the airport. A welcome ceremony was held at the airport.

Xi Jinping expressed that China and Kyrgyzstan are linked by mountains and rivers, and the traditional friendship enjoys a long history. Over the 21 years since the establishment of diplomatic relationship, China-Kyrgyzstan good-neighbourly friendship has been deepened unceasingly. Bilateral relations enjoy the foundation and conditions for a leap to a higher level and have broad prospects for development. I am looking forward to planning for the development of China-Kyrgyzstan relations with President Atambaev to consolidate and strengthen the traditional friendship between the two countries and the two peoples and to uplift the bilateral relations to a higher level.

Xi Jinping stressed that the SCO Bishkek Summit is of great significance to the development of the organization. China will work with other member states to ensure the success of the Summit and to inject fresh impetus into the development of the organization.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi and other accompanying officials arrived by the same plane.

H.E. Qi Dayu, Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, as well greeted at the airport.

Xi Jinping arrived in Bishkek from Samarkand by special plane after concluding the state visit to Uzbekistan. President Islam Karimov of Uzbekistan saw off at the airport.

Kyrgyzstan is the last stop of Xi Jinping’s Central Asia tour.
