Xi Jinping Meets with Prime Minister Zhantoro Satybaldiyev of Kyrgyzstan

On Sept. 11, 2013, President Xi Jinping met with Prime Minister Zhantoro Satybaldiyev of Kyrgyzstan in Bishkek.

Xi Jinping expressed that he and President Almazbek Atambaev have announced the establishment of China-Kyrgyzstan strategic partnership.This is an important decision for the future development of China-Kyrgyzstan relations and is in the fundamental interest of the two countries and the two peoples. China is willing to work with Kyrgyzstan to tap the potentials, to uplift the level of cooperation. Relevant departments of the two sides should strengthen communication, take measures to drive up bilateral trade growth, enhance agriculture, ports, customs and connectivity cooperation, expand the scale of economic and trade cooperation between Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China and Kyrgyzstan. Hope the Kyrgyz side will improve investment environment and create favourable conditions for investment of Chinese businesses.

Satybaldiyev expressed that the Kyrgyz government will implement the important consensus reached between the two heads of state and actively explore bilateral cooperation to make it in accordance with the new positioning of bilateral relations. The Kyrgyz side welcomes investments from Chinese businesses. Kyrgyzstan will work with China to well implement the China-Central Asia natural gas pipeline and other major projects, to promote cooperation in infrastructure construction and other fields, to boost exchanges between adjacent regions of the two countries.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi and others were present at the meeting.
