Xi Jinping Meets with President Tsakhia Elbegdorj of Mongolia

On Sept. 12, 2013, President Xi Jinping met in Bishkek with President Tsakhia Elbegdorj of Mongolia.

Xi Jinping expressed that China and Mongolia are friendly neighbours linked by mountains and rivers. China has always attached importance to developing relations with Mongolia, respects Mongolia's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, respects the development path independently chosen by the Mongolian people. Both sides should forge ahead in the overall direction of the development of China-Mongolia relations, firmly support each other on issues concerning each other's core interests and major concerns, strengthen communication and exchanges between the leaders of the two countries, to enhance understanding, to deepen mutual trust and to plan for cooperation. China supports Mongolia for participating in international and regional affairs. It is believed that with the joint efforts of both sides, China-Mongolia strategic partnership will surely be able to move ahead unceasingly.

Xi Jinping stressed that China, based on the principle of mutual benefit and win-win outcomes, joins in cooperation with Mongolia. Both sides can, in accordance with the ideas of promoting the coordinated development of mineral resources exploration, infrastructure construction and financial cooperation, strengthen economic and trade cooperation and well implement major connectivity projects.

Elbegdorj expressed that the Mongolian side is actively committed to developing Mongolia-China good-neighbourly and friendly relations of long-term stability and highly appreciates China's principles and proposals on bilateral cooperation. Mongolia is implementing the "strategy of reinvigorating the country through mining". Mongolia hopes to strengthen cooperation with China in the fields of energy, mining, economy, trade and infrastructure construction, to implement major landmark projects, to take measures for creating favourable conditions for bilateral cooperation. The Mongolian side is willing to enhance communication and coordination with China in international and regional affairs.

Wang Huning, Li Zhanshu, Yang Jiechi and others were present at the meeting.
