2020/03/03

At a press briefing held at 15:00 on 3 March by the State Council inter-agency task force on the COVID-19 outbreak, Mi Feng, an NHC spokesperson and Deputy Director-General for Communications, said that between 0:00 and 24:00 on 2 March, 11 confirmed cases, 65 suspected cases and zero fatal case were newly reported outside Hubei and the number of severe cases was down by 25. The daily number of new confirmed cases outside Hubei stayed around 10 in the past five days; new suspected cases reported daily have remained under 100 for four consecutive days; and around 3,000 new cured and discharged cases have been reported daily for the past six days. There is a growing positive momentum in epidemic control nationwide. “For the next step, we will focus on the communities, strengthen the responsibilities of various parties, take targeted region-specific measures based on local risk levels, and coordinate efforts for epidemic control and regular medical services,” Mi said.
