NHC: Existing Confirmed Cases in Wuhan Dropped Below 100

2020/04/23

At a press briefing given by the State Council inter-agency task force on COVID-19 response on 22 April, NHC spokesperson Mi Feng said that on 21 April, Wuhan saw its number of confirmed cases under treatment drop below 100 for the first time and no fatal cases for seven days running. Nationwide, 23 imported cases were newly reported, mostly from countries sharing land borders with China. This underlines the need to move the line of defense forward, keep up effective control measures in border areas and point-of-entry cities, and guard against domestic resurgence caused by imported infections.
