MOFCOM: Export of Anti-epidemic Supplies Kept Expanding

2020/05/08

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) Gao Feng said on 7 May that while meeting domestic need for containment and resumption of work and production, China has been exporting more anti-epidemic supplies, underpinning global effort against COVID-19. Statistics show that from 1 March to 6 May, China has exported containment supplies to 194 countries and regions through market-based procurement. Since 1 April, such export has expanded substantially.

Gao noted that MOFCOM has worked closely with relevant authorities to exercise stringent regulation over supplies for export, banning the export of products below both Chinese and international standards. Nevertheless, the channel is fully open for exporting materials that meet either Chinese or international standards. Going forward, MOFCOM will continue to enforce effective regulations over the market and quality of anti-epidemic supplies for export.
