NHC Update on COVID-19 Cases in China

1. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 19 June, the following were reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 27 confirmed cases (4 imported, including 3 in Guangdong and 1 in Shanghai; 23 local, including 22 in Beijing and 1 in Hebei);

b) no fatal cases;

c) 4 suspected cases (all local in Beijing);

d)12 cured and discharged cases;

e) 232 close contacts released from medical observation; and

f) no change in the number of severe cases.

2. As of 24:00, 19 June, among all the imported cases, 83 confirmed cases (no severe cases) were still under treatment and no suspected cases awaiting test results. In total, 1,868 imported cases had been confirmed, 1,785 cases cured and discharged, and no fatal cases reported.

3. As of 24:00, 19 June, the following had been reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 308 confirmed cases (13 severe cases) still under treatment;

b) 78,410 cured and discharged cases;

c) 4,634 fatal cases;

d) 83,352 confirmed cases;

e) 11 suspected cases pending test results; and

f) 756,223 close contacts traced (including 6,023 still under medical observation).

4. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 19 June, the following asymptomatic cases were reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 7 new cases (5 imported);

b) no cases developed into confirmed cases;

c) 9 cases released from medical observation (8 imported); and

d) 108 cases still under medical observation (57 imported).

5. As of 24:00, 19 June, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan had altogether reported 1,618 confirmed cases:

a) 1,127 in the Hong Kong SAR (including 1,074 discharged cases and 4 fatal cases);

b) 45 in the Macao SAR (all discharged from hospital); and

c) 446 in the Taiwan region (including 434 discharged cases and 7 fatal cases).
