NHC Update on COVID-19 Cases in China (24:00, 24 June)

1. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 24 June, the following were reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 19 confirmed cases (5 imported, including 3 in Gansu, 1 in Guangdong and 1 in Shaanxi; 14 local, including 13 in Beijing and 1 in Hebei);

b) no fatal cases;

c) no suspected cases;

d) 5 cured and discharged cases;

e) 415 close contacts released from medical observation; and

f) 3 more severe cases than the previous day.

2. As of 24:00, 24 June, among all the imported cases, 88 confirmed cases (1 severe case) were still under treatment and no suspected cases awaiting test results. In total, 1,893 imported cases had been confirmed, 1,805 cases cured and discharged, and no fatal cases reported.

3. As of 24:00, 24 June, the following had been reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 382 confirmed cases (15 severe cases) still under treatment;

b) 78,433 cured and discharged cases;

c) 4,634 fatal cases;

d) 83,449 confirmed cases;

e) 13 suspected cases pending test results; and

f) 760,157 close contacts traced (including 8,011 still under medical observation).

4. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 24 June, the following asymptomatic cases were reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 1 new case (imported);

b) no cases developed into confirmed cases;

c) 4 cases released from medical observation (3 imported); and

d) 97 cases still under medical observation (57 imported).

5. As of 24:00, 24 June, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan had altogether reported 1,670 confirmed cases:

a) 1,179 in the Hong Kong SAR (including 1,086 discharged cases and 6 fatal cases);

b) 45 in the Macao SAR (all discharged from hospital); and

c) 446 in the Taiwan region (including 435 discharged cases and 7 fatal cases).
