NHC Update on COVID-19 Cases in China

1. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 29 June, the following were reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 19 confirmed cases (11 imported, including 4 in Guangdong, 3 in Shanghai, 3 in Sichuan and 1 in Gansu; 8 local, including 7 in Beijing and 1 in Shanghai);

b) no fatal cases;

c) 1 suspected case (imported, in Shanghai);

d) 9 cured and discharged cases;

e) 458 close contacts released from medical observation; and

f) 1 fewer severe case than the previous day.

2. As of 24:00, 29 June, among all the imported cases, 88 confirmed cases (no severe cases) were still under treatment and 1 suspected case awaiting test results. In total, 1,918 imported cases had been confirmed, 1,830 cases cured and discharged, and no fatal cases reported.

3. As of 24:00, 29 June, the following had been reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 428 confirmed cases (7 severe cases) still under treatment;

b) 78,469 cured and discharged cases;

c) 4,634 fatal cases;

d) 83,531 confirmed cases;

e) 7 suspected cases pending test results; and

f) 762,376 close contacts traced (including 6,809 still under medical observation).

4. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 29 June, the following asymptomatic cases were reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 4 new cases (3 imported);

b) 3 cases developed into confirmed cases (3 imported);

c) 4 cases released from medical observation (3 imported); and

d) 99 cases still under medical observation (60 imported).

5. As of 24:00, 29 June, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan had altogether reported 1,696 confirmed cases:

a) 1,203 in the Hong Kong SAR (including 1,105 discharged cases and 7 fatal cases);

b) 46 in the Macao SAR (45 discharged from hospital); and

c) 447 in the Taiwan region (including 435 discharged cases and 7 fatal cases).
