Beijing CDC: One Confirmed Case Did Not Promptly Report Symptoms During Quarantine

2020/07/02

On 1 July, Pang Xinghuo, Deputy Director of the Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and Control, gave a briefing on the case confirmed on 30 June at a press conference on Beijing's COVID-19 response. According to the epidemiological investigation, the confirmed case did not report symptoms or seek medical attention in time during quarantine, and started to dine with several friends after a 14-day home quarantine.

Beijing CDC reminded residents of the still-present COVID-19 risks and warned against letting off guard. Residents must ensure proper personal protection, refrain from get-togethers, parties and other mass gatherings and seek immediate medical attention with sound personal protection should symptoms appear. Residents must not go out and about when feeling ill. Those being quarantined at designated places or at home need to strictly observe the quarantine requirements, refrain from going out or attending any gatherings, report immediately when feeling ill and seek medical treatment as required. Everyone is duty-bound to curb the spread of COVID-19 in order to protect oneself and others.
