Beijing: Zero High-Risk Area and 130 Patients Cured and Discharged from Hospital

At the press conference on Beijing's COVID-19 response held on 13 July, Deputy Director of the Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and Control Liu Xiaofeng said that upon assessment in accordance with the Criteria for Region-Specific and Tiered Response to COVID-19 on a Regular Basis in Beijing submitted by Beijing Municipality to the National Health Commission, the risk level of Huaxiang Area of Fengtai District is lowered from high to medium since there had been fewer than 10 local confirmed cases in 14 days running; and the risk level of Fengtai Street of Fengtai District, and Huangcun County and Beizangcun County of Daxing District is lowered from medium to low since no new case had been reported there for 14 consecutive days. Beijing now has a total of seven medium-risk areas.

According to Wu Guoan, vice president of Beijing Ditan Hospital, since the outbreak of cluster cases at the Xinfadi Wholesale Market, Beijing has pooled its best medical resources to treat the patients. As of 3pm, 13 July, a total of 130 patients, including one severe case, had been cured and discharged, aged between 19 months and 66 years old and in hospital for an average of 22 days. In addition, 16 asymptomatic cases were discharged after their NAT results turned negative. Among the hospitalized confirmed cases, one patient is still in critical condition.
