NHC Update on COVID-19 Cases in China

1. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 25 July, the following were reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 46 confirmed cases (11 imported, including 5 in Inner Mongolia, 3 in Guangdong, 1 in Tianjin, 1 in Fujian and 1 in Shandong; 35 local, including 22 in Xinjiang and 13 in Liaoning);

b) no fatal cases;

c) 2 new suspected cases (both imported, 1 in Inner Mongolia and 1 in Shanghai);

d) 19 cured and discharged cases;

e) 673 close contacts released from medical observation; and

f) 7 more severe cases than the previous day.

2. As of 24:00, 25 July, among all the imported cases, 82 confirmed cases (including 2 severe cases) were still under treatment and 3 suspected cases awaiting test results. In total, 2045 imported cases had been confirmed, 1,963 cases cured and discharged, and no fatal cases reported.

3. As of 24:00, 25 July, the following had been reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 288 confirmed cases (including 18 severe cases) still under treatment;

b) 78,908 cured and discharged cases;

c) 4,634 fatal cases;

d) 83,830 confirmed cases;

e) 3 suspected cases pending test results; and

f) 779,000 close contacts traced (including 11,762 still under medical observation).

4. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 25 July, the following asymptomatic cases were reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 68 new cases (8 imported);

b) 17 cases developed into confirmed cases;

c) 10 cases released from medical observation (7 imported); and

d) 292 cases still under medical observation (91 imported).

5. As of 24:00, 25 July, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan had altogether reported 3,009 confirmed cases:

a) 2,505 in the Hong Kong SAR (including 1,455 discharged cases and 18 fatal cases);

b) 46 in the Macao SAR (all discharged from hospital); and

c) 458 in the Taiwan region (including 440 discharged cases and 7 fatal cases).
