NHC Update on COVID-19 Cases in China

1. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 7 September, the following were reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 10 confirmed cases (all imported, including 5 in Sichuan, 2 in Guangdong, 1 in Tianjin, 1 in Fujian and 1 in Shaanxi);

b) no fatal cases;

c) no suspected cases;

d) 15 cured and discharged cases;

e) 366 close contacts released from medical observation; and

f) no changes in the number of severe cases.

2. As of 24:00, 7 September, among all the imported cases, 175 confirmed cases (including 2 severe cases) were still under treatment and 1 suspected case awaiting test result. In total, 2,595 imported cases had been confirmed, 2,420 cases cured and discharged, and no fatal cases reported.

3. As of 24:00, 7 September, the following had been reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 175 confirmed cases (including 2 severe cases) still under treatment;

b) 80,335 cured and discharged cases;

c) 4,634 fatal cases;

d) 85,144 confirmed cases;

e) 1 suspected case pending test result; and

f) 820,007 close contacts traced (including 6,552 still under medical observation).

4. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 7 September, the following asymptomatic cases were reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 13 new cases (all imported);

b) 2 cases developed into confirmed cases (both imported);

c) 16 cases released from medical observation (10 imported); and

d) 324 cases still under medical observation (322 imported).

5. As of 24:00, 7 September, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan had altogether reported 5,429 confirmed cases:

a) 4,889 in the Hong Kong SAR (including 4,524 discharged cases and 98 fatal cases);

b) 46 in the Macao SAR (all discharged from hospital); and

c) 494 in the Taiwan region (including 475 discharged cases and 7 fatal cases).
