Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui Meets with Newly-appointed Nepalese Ambassador to China Mahendra Bahadur Pandey

On September 15, 2020, Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui met with the newly-appointed Nepalese Ambassador to China Mahendra Bahadur Pandey. Luo Zhaohui welcomed Mahendra Bahadur Pandey on his assumption of new post in China, and said, President Xi Jinping's visit to Nepal in October last year is a complete success which has elevated bilateral relations to a new level. The two sides should make unremitting efforts to implement the results of the high-level visits, strengthen anti-epidemic cooperation, and maintain coordination in international and regional affairs, so as to deliver benefits to the people of the two countries, as well as promote regional stability and development.

Mahendra Bahadur Pandey expressed, it is a great honor to serve as Ambassador to China. Nepal and China are good neighbors and good friends. The Nepalese side congratulates the Chinese side on the great outcomes in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic and restoring economy. The Nepalese side stands ready to work with the Chinese side to well implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, jointly promote the integration between the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the development strategy of Nepal, and jointly fight against COVID-19 pandemic, so as to promote cooperation in various fields for new development.
