On May 28, 2021, Assistant Foreign Minister Wu Jianghao attended at invitation the National Day reception held by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in China.

In his speech, Wu Jianghao congratulated on the National Day of Azerbaijan and said since last year, in the face of severe challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, China and Azerbaijan have helped each other and jointly promoted steady progress in all-round cooperation. In 2021, China will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and embark on the new journey of fully building a modern socialist country. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan will accelerate the progress towards its national development priorities before 2030. China and Azerbaijan, as well as the relations between the two countries will embrace critical development opportunities. China is willing to work with Azerbaijan to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, enhance political mutual trust, strengthen mutual support, and further advance Belt and Road cooperation, in order to translate the opportunities of further advancing bilateral relations into more concrete cooperation results, and elevate China-Azerbaijan relations to new heights.

Wu Jianghao also exchanged views with Azerbaijani Ambassador to China Akram Zeynalli on China-Azerbaijan relations and practical cooperation between the two countries.
