Assistant Foreign Minister Deng Li Meets with Outgoing Tunisian Ambassador to China Dhia Khaled

On August 26, 2021, Assistant Foreign Minister Deng Li met with outgoing Tunisian Ambassador to China Dhia Khaled.

Deng Li spoke positively of Dhia Khaled's efforts to promote China-Tunisia relations during his tenure as Tunisian Ambassador to China. He hopes that Dhia Khaled will contribute continuously to China-Tunisia relations after returning to his homeland. Deng Li said that China-Tunisia relations have made remarkable development in recent years, with close high-level contacts between the two countries, mutual support on issues involving each other's core interests and major concerns, continuous promotion of pragmatic cooperation in various fields, and good coordination and cooperation under such frameworks as the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. China is willing to work with Tunisia to deepen political mutual trust and expand mutually beneficial cooperation for the greater development of China-Tunisia relations.

Dhia Khaled expressed his gratitude for China's support during his tenure, reiterated that Tunisian attaches great importance to the development of its relations with China, and thanked China for its provision of valuable support to Tunisia's fight against the novel coronavirus. Tunisia is ready to work with China to carry forward cooperation in all fields, conduct close coordination and cooperation on international and regional affairs, and continue to raise bilateral relations to a higher level.
