Le Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Najib Razak of Malaysia

In the morning of November 10, 2014, Premier Li Keqiang met with Prime Minister Najib Razak of Malaysia at the Great Hall of the People.

Li Keqiang said that China and Malaysia are sincere friends of mutual trust and reliable partners for mutual benefit and win-win results. Prime Minister Najib’s successful visit to China in the first half of this year culminated the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relationship between China and Malaysia. Both sides should summarize the useful experience and carry forward the good traditions gained since the establishment of the diplomatic relationship so as to forge a solid foundation for the sustained and sound development of the bilateral relations and jointly open up a bright future for the China-Malaysia relations.

Li Keqiang stressed that the Chinese government supports the construction of the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park and Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park and encourages Chinese enterprises to invest and develop in Malaysia. China is willing to play an active role in the construction of the Malaysia-Singapore high-speed railway and the railway in the south of Malaysia. Both sides should take the opportunity of the two countries’ signing of the agreement during the visit on the establishment of RMB clearing arrangements in Kuala Lumpur to deepen financial cooperation and raise the level of bilateral economic, trade and investment facilitation.

Li Keqiang pointed out that Malaysia will take the rotating presidency of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) next year, and China is willing to actively provide support and cooperation to promote an in-depth development of the China-ASEAN relations and East Asia cooperation and jointly open up a new situation for regional cooperation.

Najib said that Malaysia and China are friends and partners of mutual trust. This year, the two countries jointly celebrated the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relationship, and the Malaysia-China relations have entered a new stage. Malaysia welcomes and thanks for China’s establishment of an RMB clearing bank in Kuala Lumpur, and is willing to expand cooperation with China in fields such as economy and trade, investment, finance and infrastructure construction, so as to promote regional cooperation and increasingly enhance the level of the Malaysia-China and ASEAN-China relations.
