Consul General Fei Visits Newcastle for Consular Service

On 30th March, Consul General Fei Mingxing visited Newcastle Municipality.

Consul General Fei was briefed on the local situation by officials of the Municipality, consultants in labor relations, representatives of Newcastle Chinese Community and Police Cooperation Center as well as heads of Newcastle Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and exchanged views on related issues with them.

Consul General Fei also spoke on issues of labor law, safety and security in South Africa and the consular services of the Chinese government to more than 50 Chinese entrepreneurs. He highlighted the situation of public security in South Africa in the election year, called on all Chinese enterprises and citizens to closely monitor the local situation, and strengthen due preventive measures. He urged them to abide by the laws and regulations of South Africa such as the minimum wage and the immigration laws and voice their concerns through legal means.

During the visit, 50 applications for Chinese passport and notarization were received and processed by the accompanying consular officers of the Consulate.
