On August 27th, Ambassador Li Minggang met with the Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth AffairsMohammad Nasir Al-Jabri, and exchanged views on strengthening exchanges and cooperation in the fields ofnews, media and youth affairs.
Recognizing people-to-people exchanges as an essential element in the bilateral relations, Li said that China stands ready to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Kuwait in the areas ofnews and media, promote people-to-people exchanges and push forward China-Kuwait strategic partnership. Li also briefed Al-Jabri on the current situation in Hong Kong and the position of the Chinese government, expressing the hope that the Kuwaiti media would continue to report on the situation in Hong Kong in an objective and unbiased manner, so thatthe Kuwaiti people could understand the facts of the incident and support China's position.
For his part, Al-Jabri said that Kuwait has long enjoyed friendly relations with China. In recent years, Kuwait has attached great importance to the development of news media,youth affairs and culture, and looks forward to intensifying exchanges of experiences and deepening collaboration with China in the above areas to benefit the two countries and their peoples.The Kuwaiti media will remain focused on China and provide comprehensive coverage of the real Chinese stories and the situation in Hong Kong to its audience.
