On December 23rd 2019, Ambassador Li Minggang met with the Director-General of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah, and exchanged views on bolstering China-Kuwait media exchanges and cooperation.
Ambassador Li pointed out thatduring the successful official state visit to China by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in July last year, the two heads of state agreed to establish a strategic partnership between the two countries, injecting a new strong impetus to the China-Kuwait relations. The recent years has witnessed rapid developments ofthe media cooperation and more frequent media personnel exchanges and visits between the two countries, which have greatly promoted China-Kuwait relations. Recently,KUNA opened its first office in China, further promoting the better understanding and friendship between the two peoples. China welcomes more Kuwaiti media to havetheir journalists stationed in China, and stands ready to strengthen media cooperation with KUNA and other Kuwaiti media tocontribute to the comprehensive development of bilateral relationsand pragmatic cooperation.
Sheikh Mubarak affirmedthe historically friendly nature of Kuwait-China relations and the close media cooperation between the two countries, and thanked the Chinese side for its facilitation and support to the opening of KUNA's first office in China. He said that KUNA will provide in-depth, comprehensive and unbiasedmedia coverage on China, to present a vivid and realChina to the Kuwaiti people. The Kuwaiti sideis willing to work together with the Chinese side to promote more fruitful Kuwait-China media cooperation.
