Ambassador Li Minggang Meets with Deputy Chief Commander of Kuwait National Guard

On December 24th 2019, Ambassador Li Minggang met with the Deputy Chief of Kuwait National Guard Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and exchanged views on promotingbilateralmilitary exchanges and cooperation. The meeting was attended by the Embassy's Political Counsellor Zhao Liang and Military Attaché Xue Chuanlai.

Ambassador Li said that at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah paid a successful state visit to China in July last year, and both heads of state agreed to establish a strategic partnership between the two countries, promoting the bilateral relationship to a new level. In the past year, Chinese and Kuwaiti militaries have made efforts in implementing consensus reached by both heads of state and maintained close exchanges and cooperation. In this October, a delegation from the Chinese People's Armed Police Force (CAPF) visited Kuwait and offered military training courses to KNG cadets,whichachieved good results and has become a highlight in terms of China-Kuwait military exchanges. The Chinese side is willing to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two militaries uponexisting engagements, to continually add new dimensions to China-Kuwait strategic partnership.

Indicating KNG's great importance accorded to developing good relations with CAPF, Sheikh Mishaal expressed KNG's willingness to continue its collaboration withCAPF inthe implementation of consensus reached by both heads of state, strengthen mutual visits and personnel exchanges between the two militaries, foster closer military cooperation at all levels with China,and promote friendship between the two sides, to contribute to the evolvingChina-Kuwait strategic partnership.
