Both sides noted that, under the guidance of President Xi Jinping and His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, China-Kuwait strategic partnership has gained remarkable progress at its first year. In 2019, both sides respectively held the first meeting on China-Kuwait Bilateral Cooperation Implementation Mechanism, the first meeting of the Silk City and Five Islands Construction Joint Steering Committee and the Six Session of China-Kuwait Joint Economic and Trade Commission. 2019 has also witnessed the steady pragmatic cooperation, robust economic and trade relations, strengthened military exchanges, and ever-increasing personnel interactions. Both sides have expressed satisfactions on the cooperation in international affairs. The Chinese side highly praised Kuwait's role as the non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council in the past two years. The Kuwaiti side thanked the Chinese side for supporting Kuwait's efforts in playing an active role in international and regional affairs.

Both side agreed to make joint efforts in the New Year to implement the consensus reached by the two Heads of State, continuingly enrich the contents of China-Kuwait strategic partnership, strengthen pragmatic cooperation under the "Belt and Road" Initiative and promote the aspirations of the two peoples for better lives.
