On 21st December 2020, Ambassador Li Minggang met with Mr. Yousef Khalid Al-Marzouq, Editor-in-Chief of Kuwait's Al-Anba newspaper.

Noting the traditional friendly relations and the fruitful results of bilateral cooperation in various fields between China and Kuwait, Ambassador Li said that China has attached great importance to the strengthening of bilateral media exchanges and cooperation. Al-Anba newspaper is an important bridge for enhancing the friendship and mutual understandings between the Chinese and Kuwaiti peoples. Taking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Kuwait in 2021 as an opportunity, the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait indicated its readiness to deepen the cooperation with Al-Anba to contribute actively to the development of the China-Kuwait strategic partnership and the fostering of closer people-to-people ties between both countries.

For his part, Yousef affirmed the sound exchanges and cooperation in the area of public information and media between both countries. As the next year marks the 50th anniversary of the China-Kuwait diplomatic ties, Al-Anba is keen to maintain the close cooperation with the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait, and works to provide more press coverage about China and continuously enhance mutual understandings and trust between both peoples, in order to play a bridging role in bolstering the China-Kuwait friendly relations.

Ambassador Li also introduced China's achievements in fighting against the COVID-19 epidemic and its social and economic development in 2020.
