On 29th December 2020, Ambassador Li Minggang met with the new Chief of General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed ForcesLieutenant General Khaled Saleh Al-Sabah. The ChineseDefense Attachéto Kuwait XueChuanlai atten ded the meeting.

During the meeting, Ambassador Li noted the traditional friendly relations between China and Kuwait, especially since both sides established strategic partnership in 2018, bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various areas including defense have been deepened. As next year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-Kuwait diplomatic relations, the Chinese side is keen to work with the Kuwaiti counterparts to bolster exchanges and cooperation between the two armies,thus making greater progress in advancing the China-Kuwait strategic partnership.

Lieutenant General Khaled affirmed the sound relationship between Kuwait and China, and the increasingly close exchanges and cooperation between both sides in various fields and levels. He further expressed Kuwait's readiness for the continuation of exchanges and cooperation between the two armies to bring such friendly relations to a new level.
