Ambassador Rao Hongwei’s Opinion Piece: China-Rwanda Brotherhood in Half a Century

On Nov. 12th, Rwandan media houses, the New Times, Kigali Today, Igihe and Africa-China Review, published an opinion piece by His Excellency Ambassador Rao Hongwei with title China-Rwanda Brotherhood in Half a Century.

In the article, Amb. Rao pointed out that China and Rwanda have fostered a multidimensional and full-fledged relationship in the past 50 years. High-level political mutual trust anchored China-Rwanda bilateral relations steadily. China has become the largest trading partner and largest project contractor of Rwanda. Bilateral people-to-people exchanges have enormously expanded. China and Rwanda support each other in international arena. The Communist Party of China and the Rwandan Patriotic Front see eye to eye on state governance.  Thanks to the stewardship of our leaders, China-Rwanda relations are at their best in history.

Am. Rao further emphasized that China-Rwanda brotherhood roots from their culture and commonalities, builds on empathy, and grows in trust. He firmly believed that the two countries will strengthen the collaboration and synergy between national development strategies. And the two countries will further deepen practical cooperation for the benefits of two peoples, composing a new chapter of friendship that goes beyond thousands of hills and rivers.
