On December 25, 2022, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with the head of the International Relations Committee of the Kuwait Youth Council Abdurakhman and his delegation in the Chinese Embassy.The two sides had exchanges on youth communication and other issues.

Ambassador Zhang noted that the hopes of a country and the future of a nation lie in the hands of its young generation, adding that conducting exchanges between our young people are of significance for enhancing mutual understanding and mutual trust between countries and fostering people-to-people ties. Youth development was among the eight major initiatives for China-Arab practical cooperation proposed by President Xi Jinping at the first China-Arab States Summit, which will add strong momentum to future exchanges and cooperation among youth in our two countries. China welcomes more young people in Kuwait to visit our country in person where they could get a true, multidimensional and comprehensive understanding of China, and expects them to contribute to an even brighter future of China-Kuwait relations. The Chinese Embassy in Kuwait will work with the Kuwait Youth Council to strengthen exchanges through organizing a variety of events, in an effort to facilitate mutual understanding and friendly cooperation between our young people.

For his part, Abdurakhman said that, since its establishment, the Kuwait Youth Council has attached high importance to empowering youth development, and worked actively to promote exchanges with the outside world.The council is ready to serve as a bridge for communications between Kuwaiti and Chinese young people, and will carry out various forms of activities, including organizing mutual visits and hosting forums, to enhance friendly exchanges and cooperation among youth of the two sides, thus contributing to further progress in bilateral relationship, he added.
