On January 6, 2023, Philadelphia Orchestra and American Business and Travel Association jointly held the Chinese New Year reception to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Philadelphia Orchestra's historic tour to China in 1973 and welcome iSING!Suzhou delegation at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. Chinese Consul General in New York Huang Ping attended the event and delivered remarks. Vice President of Suzhou People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Jin Jie, Philadelphia Mayor James Kenney, Pennsylvania State Senator Nikil Saval, Deputy Secretary of the Office of International Business Development at Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development David Briel, Executive Director of Pennsylvania Governor’s Advisory Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs Stephanie Sun and President & CEO Matías Tarnopolsky also spoke at the reception. More than 100 local Chinese and American guests attended the event.

Huang Ping and guests also attended the “Echos of Ancient Tang Poems” concert. Fifteen young artists from ten countries brought the Tang Dynasty to life with 15 ancient poems.
