On Jan 17th, Chinese Consul General in New York Huang Ping and Madam Zhang Aiping held a reception for the 2023 Chinese New Year of the Rabbit.

China’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Amb. Zhang Jun, New York City’s Commissioner for International Affairs Edward Mermelstein, Regional Director at OFM’s New York Regional Office Alexander Hardin, New Jersey Senator Gordon Johnson, New Jersey Assemblywoman Shama Haider, New Jersey Assemblywoman Ellen Park, Consul General of Australia in New York Nick Greiner, Consul General of Chile in New York Mario Artaza, Consul General of Kazakhstan in New York Raushan Yesbulatova, Consul General of ROK in New York Euy Whan Kim, Consul General of Pakistan in New York Ayesha Ali, Consul General of Switzerland in New York Niculin Jäger, President of Appeal of Conscience Foundation Rabbi Arthur Schneier, President of the China Institute James Heimowitz, Executive Chairman of the Estee Lauder Companies William Lauder, President Emeritus of the Juilliard School Joseph Polisi, as well as more than 400 guests in the northeast of the U.S. participated in the event.

Chinese and American artists jointly presented a splendid performance, including Chinese traditional musical performance by Suona and Erhu, acrobatics, Sichuan Opera Bian Lian, Chinese folk song “Mo Li Hua”, “All I Ask Of You” from the Broadway musical, etc.. This Eastern-Western fusion serves as a bridge of friendship and exchanges between China and the U.S.
